The Power of the Bible
The Bible has power
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
The Bible isn’t simply some old book that has some wise sayings, it’s a living thing. It’s the living Word of the living God.
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness ,that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
God uses the Bible
God uses his word, to bring about his purposes.
Isaiah 55:10-11 God uses his word to teach us about him. “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,” (John 5:39) We have the great story of Philip and the eunuch in Acts 8:26-40. There it was the scriptures that were the catalyst for this man to become baptized and follow Jesus. Two verses this year that I have found to speak powerfully into my life is; Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, (Ephesians 3:20) For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:10) These verses speak power into my life, and I find when I reflect on them, and read them, I see God ministering to me through his word. God uses his word, he uses the Bible to transform us.
We need to share his word with the world
Are you letting the bible transform you?
