Temporary Suspension of Sunday Morning Service with effect from 19th March 2020

From the pastor: It has been a surprisingly emotional few weeks as we contemplate the events concerning the outbreak of Corona virus. Our world has dramatically changed almost overnight. But it has been wonderful to see that throughout the life of our Church there has been beautiful calm, faith and love at work in our church community. The “peace of God that surpasses all understanding” has been demonstrated in so many ways. I feel privileged to be part of a Church family that responds to the most difficult of circumstances as people of God. “How can I help?” “What can I do?” “Do you need anything, even toilet paper!” This is what I am hearing from so many. While the world may change, God is our rock. Unchanging. Secure. Certain. Sovereign. Deuteronomy 32:4 “The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.” Please be assured, Jesus is our strength, joy and refuge. Pastor Graeme

The church has made a decision with regards to the functioning of our Church family life. As a Church we wish to conform to the new government regulations and instructions regarding the safe gathering of people during this time of combating the Corona virus.

  1. Our primary goals are as follows: 1.1 Safety of congregation and community. 1.2 Comply to social distancing and government decrees. 1.3 Maintain pastoral care, prayer, discipleship, community and worship during this period. 1.4 Bring glory and honour to God. 1.5 Love our community. 1.6 Keep everyone connected through online platforms and other means.

  2. Our Response : 2.1 We will be suspending Sunday morning Church until further notice. 2.2 We will provide a form of online Church service for everyone to connect to each Sunday. 2.3 We will suspend all ministries and events of more than 10 people. This includes the scheduled Leaders breakfast and women’s ministry events. It also includes playgroups, Ignite & Catalyst youth group. 2.4 Starting next week we recommend that all growth groups suspend gathering. This will give a break of 3 weeks. (including school holidays) During that time we will be seeking to develop an online model that will support and facilitate the growth groups and be ready to put it into practice at the start of term.

  3. A Church help line will be set up where our people can ring or email for physical help such as shopping as well as prayer and support.

Be at peace and continue to stay connected. For any questions or enquiries, kindly contact the church office on 9859 8101 or email: office@northbalwynbaptist.church
